The opening scene of "Kanon" unfolds on a winter day, with snow gently falling. The protagonist finds himself reunited with his cousin, Nayuki Nasase, after seven long years while sitting on a bench in front of the station. This moment takes place not in his childhood hometown but in a new city that has welcomed him during a sudden relocation, thanks to Nayuki and her mother. For the protagonist, it is a place intertwined with faint memories from his childhood.
"Kanon" is a notable work by the acclaimed creative team, Key, known for their successes in the romantic adventure game genre, including iconic titles like "AIR" and "CLANNAD." As their debut title, "Kanon" has been adapted for various consumer platforms and has seen two successful anime adaptations. This game is often hailed as a cornerstone of the 'nakige' subgenre, characterized by its profound emotional impact.
